Just got back from a wonderful week in DC!! Here are the highlights:
- Meeting my nephew for the very first time and IMMEDIATELY falling in love with him!

- Enjoying quality time with my brother and sis-in-law: yummy meals, churching, simple times in front of tv.
- Exploring a city solo and wandering aimlessly. Striking up random conversations with strangers.
- Visiting Vietnam Veterans Memorial - my all-time favorite memorial!!
- Hanging out with Isaac (aka Big Big) and taking silly pictures of each other. Reminiscing college years, catching up on current life occurrences, eating a crazy yummy chocolate brownie ice cream sundae.
- Leisure reading!!
- Worshipping at Fairfax Community Church. Embracing the cross and ahhh...the feeling of being set free. Oh yes, I am free!! Thank you, my Lord.
"The cross is not the terrible end to an otherwise God-fearing and happy life, but it meets us at the beginning of our communion with Christ. When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on
me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
‘Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power
of Christ I’ll stand!
